Signature is the end result of three years constant development of the X-DAC 3.0 design by its creator Norman Tracy, his six years experience with the classic CS8412/CS4328 chip set, and the best feedback from X-DAC 3.0 builders. Brought together in a synergistic optimization of the already excellent basic X-DAC 3.0 design its stands ready to take digital music reproduction to the next level. The extraordinarily over designed X-Pwr power supply is the bed rock upon which is built this advanced reproduction device. On the X-DAC 3.0 the critical DAC and analog section regulators are upgraded along with key passive components. Housed in our laser etched case with added constrained mode damping the resulting device is our best work. X-DAC 3.0 Signature redefines the state of the art in digital music reproduction.
Like a fine tailored suit or custom built home X-DAC 3.0 Signature is configured to each owner's exact taste and requirements. We now enjoy enough experience with the circuit to allow 'voicing' through selecting the types and values of passive and active components in the DAC and analog stages. The 0 dB level can be set to best match your system for optimum signal to noise ratios and dynamic range. For ultimate transparency an output level control can be added allowing X-DAC 3.0 Signature to directly drive your power amps acting as a digital pre-amp. Thanks to the unique capabilities of the classic CS4328 DAC the level control can be placed before the high speed high current output driver without the veiling of an additional analog stage. Thus one obtains the benefit of simple 'passive pre-amp' based systems coupled with the ability to drive complex loads with ease yielding both transparency and musical dynamics.
